England’s veteran pacer James Anderson announced his retirement from Test cricket with the first Test against the West Indies at Lord’s in July 2024.

James Anderson, the highest wicket-taker among pace bowlers in Test cricket, will play his final red-ball game for England in July 2024. Earlier this year, he achieved the landmark of 700 Test wickets in the Dharamsala Test against India. Anderson announced his decision on social media, saying, “I’m going to miss walking out for England so much. But I know the time is right to step aside and let others realise their dreams.”
