Violence in Kyrgyzstan: A few global students, including those from Pakistan, are purportedly as yet confronting dangers from local people amid continuous crowd brutality against worldwide students in Kyrgyzstan’s Bishkek.
India and Pakistan have requested that students stay inside and contact their government offices.

What happened
The attack on several international students, including from Pakistan, reportedly took place after a fight between some foreigners and locals in Bishkek city on May 13. Kyrgyz police said they had mobilised forces on Friday, May 17, to quash the violence.

The Consulate of India in Bishkek said they are in contact with Indian students. “The event is, as of now, quiet, yet students are encouraged to remain inside for the second and reach out to the Consulate in case of any issue. From the moment information about the incident was received, law enforcement agencies of the Kyrgyzstan Republic took prompt measures to detain persons involved in the event, both foreign citizens and citizens of the Kyrgyzstan Republic.
Situation under control
The Kyrgyz Republic said that the situation was entirely under the control of the security forces and added that the safety of citizens and public order were ensured. Destructive forces are deliberately disseminating untrue and false information about the situation in the Kyrgyzstan Republic in foreign mass media and social networks, especially in Pakistan’s territory.
Kyrgyzstan says no severe injuries to students.
No seriously injured people were among those involved in the incident. According to Kyrgyzstan, about 15 citizens applied to medical institutions for examination.
